Our research will upgrade the performance of the seismic-resisting systems to which it is applied
from 'controlled damage' to 'No Damage' via easy-to-implement outcomes. The research programme is
carefully planned to provide a smooth and easy transition from creating only life safe buildings to
creating highly resilient buildings. This includes eliminating damage to new and existing buildings
in future severe earthquakes and fires, through minimal additional cost or complexity.
